Resize images for social media uploads

Simple image resizing tips for social posts, profile images, thumbnails, and ad creatives.

Most social platforms crop aggressively when the image ratio does not match the placement. Resize and crop before upload to keep the focal point visible.

For profile images, use a square crop with enough empty space around the face or logo. For story-style placements, use a vertical ratio and keep text away from edges.

When creating multiple versions, export a clean JPG or WebP and name files by platform and placement.

Quick workflow

  1. Make a copy of the original image if it is important.
  2. Use the focused PixelForge tool for the task.
  3. Download the processed version and test it in the destination upload form.
